KYIV. Sept 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (ICIT) has terminated a special investigation into the import to Ukraine of certain types of cheese and their export without the application of special measures, initiated by the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine in January 2021.

Relevant decision No. SP-533/2022/441-01 was adopted by the commission on August 31, according to the website of the government publication Uriadovy Kurier.

"The Commission considered the report and materials of the Ministry of Economy on the results of the investigation and found that the application of special measures is contrary to the national interests of Ukraine… The Commission adopted decision dated August 31, 2022 No. SP-533/2022/441-01, according to which it decided to stop a special investigation into the import of certain types of cheese into Ukraine, regardless of the country of origin and the export without the application of special measures," the publication said.

This decision entered into force on the day of publication of a message about it in Uriadovy Kurier on September 3.

As reported, the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine and a group of dairy producers in January last year requested the ICIT to conduct a special investigation into growing imports to Ukraine to protect domestic producers.
