Hospitals in Kharkiv region receive generators from UN, WHO – local authorities

KHARKIV. Aug 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kharkiv region hospitals received seven generators from international organizations (two generators from the UN and five from the World Health Organization).

"We understand that the occupiers continue to destroy the social infrastructure of the region, including the buildings of medical institutions. Therefore, in an emergency, it is important to have autonomous sources of electricity that will provide generators and allow the uninterrupted operation of oxygen stations, operating rooms and resuscitation," the administration’s press service said, citing Director of the Department of Health Maksym Khaustov.

The regional administration said one of the hospitals that received the generator is located on the line of fire, where there are power outages almost daily.

Two powerful AKSA 200A generators were supplied as part of the international technical assistance project "Ensuring the Energy Stability of Hospitals in Ukraine." In total, Ukraine received 110 generators from international partners under the UN program.

Another five generators of different power (80 kW, 64 kW and 6.5 kW) were supplied by WHO.
