Holos demands from govt to direct funding to support entrepreneurs in case of lockdown
KYIV. Sept 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Holos party demands from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to direct funding to support entrepreneurs in the lockdown, and not to district deputies, party leader Kira Rudyk said.
"For some reason, many challenges are unexpected for the current government. Winter comes unexpectedly, the autumn epidemic comes unexpectedly and, I guarantee, the first snow will also come as a surprise. Back in June, the Holos team and I said: we need to prepare for the autumn, plan subsidies to compensate for gas prices, purchase oxygen stations for hospitals and plan funds to support entrepreneurs," the party’s press service quoted Rudyk as saying.
She said also that people who have their own business are always the last in the priorities of the authorities, therefore the Holos party proposes that the funds that are planned to be directed to the deputies in the constituencies, should be allocated to support entrepreneurs in the event of a lockdown. Rudyk also noted that in the bill submitted by Holos, UAH 10 billion are allocated for this, which is enough to provide loans to those whose business may not survive the lockdown.
The party leader also said that this does not revoke the need to adopt other initiatives of the Holos to support small and medium-sized businesses.
"We also propose to cancel single social security tax, introduce a moratorium on inspections and the ability to work during a lockdown for enterprises. If the government cannot support people financially, then why do we need such a government? Each entrepreneur will tell you that they can cope on their own, but today, when we are reviewing the budget, we must make sure that there is something to help people who hold our economy on their shoulders, who pay taxes, and thanks to whom we can enter the next year with economic growth, instead of ushering in stagnation," she said.
