Highly unlikely that Russia has achieved any substantive advances near Orikiv and Vuhledar – British Intelligence
KYIV. Jan 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupiers are unlikely to have achieved significant success in military operations near Orikhiv, Zaporizhia region and Vuhledar, Donetsk region, and the relevant messages may be targeted misinformation, according to a defense intelligence report published on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Friday morning.
“Over the last six days, Russian online commentators have claimed Russian forces have made significant advances, breaking through Ukrainian defences in two areas: in Zaporizhia region near Orikhiv, and 100km to the east, in Donetsk region, near Vuhledar. Russian units have probably conducted local, probing attacks near Orikhiv and Vuhledar, but it is highly unlikely that Russia has actually achieved any substantive advances,” the message reads.
According to British intelligence, there is a real possibility that Russian military sources are deliberately spreading disinformation, trying to create the impression that the Russian operation is ongoing.
