Helicopter crash in Brovary kills 16 people, including two children, Interior Ministry's officials – National Police Chief
KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As a result of a helicopter crash in Brovary, Kyiv region on Wednesday morning, 16 people, including two children, were killed, the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was killed, Chief of the National Police Ihor Klymenko has said.
"This morning, January 18, a State Emergency Service’s helicopter crashed in Brovary. The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs died as a result of a helicopter crash. A total of 16 dead are known, including two children. Of these, nine were on board the helicopter," Klymenko said on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
"As a result of the helicopter crash, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs killed: the minister, the first deputy minister and the state secretary," Klymenko said.
According to him, some 22 victims are in the hospital, of which ten are children.
All relevant and specialized services work on site. Investigation of the scene continues.
