Hearing on election of preventive measure for MP Leros to continue on Nov 18

KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has postponed the hearing until November 18 of the investigators’ motion to choose independent MP Geo Leros a preventive measure in the form of house arrest to establish the circumstances of the notification of suspicion.

At a meeting on Tuesday, a representative of Leros’ defense said that one suspicion was brought against Leros within the framework of the joint criminal proceedings, and in the very petition for the election of a preventive measure, it is about two episodes – under Article 382 of the Criminal Code (failure to comply with a court decision) and a criminal offense in connection with hooligan actions in the Verkhovna Rada.

Also, according to him, the election of a preventive measure in the form of house arrest will not allow him to perform the functions of the deputy.

A representative of the prosecutor’s office, answering the question of the investigating judge whether there is a receipt for the delivery of suspicion in the case file, noted that it was not in the case file, but such a suspicion notice was served.

In order to establish the circumstances of the delivery and obtaining suspicion notice, the court announced a break in the hearing of the petition until 15:30 on November 18.

As reported, on November 12, the SBI notified Ukrainian parliamentarian Geo Leros of the suspicion of non-compliance with the court decision, which came into legal force.
