Health Ministry to cooperate with U.S.-based MSD to supply drugs for COVID-19 treatment
KYIV. Sept 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the American company MSD as part of the working visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States, according to the agency’s website.
According to the report, such cooperation will provide Ukrainian patients with COVID-19 with innovative treatment.
"The Ministry of Health is interested in developing the potential of the health care system in Ukraine, and strengthening cooperation with MSD is strategic for the country’s health care system, especially in the context of a pandemic. Ukraine will soon be able to receive innovative drugs against COVID-19 produced by MSD. We have learned a lesson on late signing of contracts on innovative immunobiological drugs to treat COVID-19, so now the team of the ministry is working ahead of the curve," Minister of Health Viktor Liashko said.
In addition, MSD expressed interest in helping the Ministry of Health in conducting screening programs as part of the Healthy Ukraine program.
