Health Ministry, Ministry of Digital Transformation prepare option for obtaining digital COVID certificate based on certificates of vaccinations abroad
KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Transformation are developing the possibility of obtaining a digital COVID certificate based on certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 carried out abroad.
"In Ukraine, it is currently impossible to obtain a digital COVID certificate based on data on vaccinations made abroad. However, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Transformation are working on such an opportunity," the Ministry of Health told Interfax-Ukraine.
The department clarified that a person who was vaccinated against COVID-19 abroad in one of the countries included in the EU e-health Trust Network, and received a digital COVID certificate there, will be able to use it on the territory of Ukraine. Having an official document confirming these vaccinations, a person can contact his or her family doctor.
"Based on this document, the doctor will make a medical record of vaccination in the electronic health care system, indicating that this is a secondary source of information. Consequently, a person who has been vaccinated abroad will be able to receive a paper International Certificate of Vaccination and Prevention," the Ministry of Health said.
The Ministry of Health recalled that in Ukraine there are several documents on vaccinations that a person can receive after vaccination:
– paper certificate form 063/o or its foreign analogue – a document confirming one vaccination with a two-dose vaccine. It is issued immediately after vaccination and will be valid for 30 days from December 6. The certificate can be issued by the doctor who carried out the vaccination;
– international certificate of vaccination – a paper document that can be obtained from the doctor who vaccinated or from your family doctor after entering the data on completing the full course of vaccination against COVID-19 in the Electronic Healthcare System. This certificate is valid for 365 days;
– COVID-certificate – a secure document on the phone, on paper or on another medium, which can be downloaded through the Diia e-services portal or in the Diia mobile application. It can be formed after receiving one or two doses of the vaccine, therefore there is a "yellow" COVID-certificate of receipt of the first dose of vaccination (valid for 30 calendar days) and "green" certificate – after a full course of vaccination (valid for 365 calendar days from the date of the last vaccination).
A complete vaccination can consist of one dose of Janssen single dose and two doses of Comirnaty/Pfizer, AstraZeneca/Covishield, Spikevax/Moderna, CoronaVac.
COVID certificates can be both internal (valid only in Ukraine) and international, which are also valid abroad. In the second case, you can freely travel to at least 52 countries from the EU e-health Trust Network and use it there to enter public events, cafes, cinemas, etc.
