Growth of Ukraine's retail turnover slows down to 9.6% in Aug – statistics

KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The turnover of retail trade in Ukraine in August 2021 compared to the same month in 2020 in comparable prices increased by 9.6%, while in July it grew by 10.1%, the State Statistics Service reported.

According to its data, in August compared to July 2021, retail trade increased by 1.6%.

In January-August 2021, compared to January-August 2020, retail turnover increased by 12.9%.

The largest growth in retail trade turnover of enterprises (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) for the eight months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 was recorded in Chernivtsi (by 30.2%), Ternopil (by 28.4%), Zakarpattia (22%), Lviv (by 20.2%), Poltava (by 19.2%), Vinnytsia (by 19.1%), Khmelnytsky (by 18.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (by 16.4%), Rivne (16%), Zhytomyr (15.5%) and Kyiv (13.9%) regions.

The State Statistics Service reminds that the data is given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
