Grossi to hold consultations against backdrop of Moscow's statements about transferring management of ZNPP to Russia’s departments – IAEA

KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi intends to hold consultations after Russia’s statements that the Zaporizhia NPP will work under the leadership of relevant departments of the Russian Federation, the organization said in a statement.

“Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, said he will engage in consultations with the relevant authorities following reports today that Russia plans to supervise operations of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP),” it reads.

The Ukrainian Zaporizhia NPP was captured by Russian troops at the end of February.

As reported, in the Russian unified public register of legal entities on October 3, at an address in Moscow, JSC Operating Organization of Zaporozhye NPP was registered with a charter capital of 2 billion rubles. The parent company with 100% of the management company is the Rostatom state corporation, the director general is Oleg Romanenko. Type of activity is production of electricity by nuclear power plants, including activities to ensure the operability of power plants.

Energoatom called this decision null and void.
