Govt to ask Rada to allocate additional UAH 12 bln to pay subsidies – Shmyhal

KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The government will ask the Verkhovna Rada to allocate additional UAH 12 billion to pay subsidies for housing and communal services, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

"Some UAH 36 billion was planned in the budget. To date, more than UAH 35.2 billion has been used to pay subsidies. By the end of the year, according to the calculations of the Ministry of Social Policy, another UAH 12 billion will be needed. As we agreed, we will address the MPs and ask them to support the changes in the budget," Shmyhal said during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.

The Prime Minister said that the draft amendments will be submitted to the Rada next week.

According to Shmyhal, at the moment there are enough funds to pay subsidies before the start of the heating season.
