Govt approves requirements for farmers applying for support from budget
KYIV. Aug 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Producers of agricultural products applying for government support shall own or use from 1 to 120 hectares of agricultural land or from 3 to 100 heads of cattle, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided.
The government approved the procedure for using funds from the state budget to support farms and other agricultural producers at a meeting on Tuesday, Taras Melnychuk, a government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, said on his Telegram channel.
"The procedure provides for requirements that farms and other producers of agricultural products that are entitled to receive budgetary funds must comply with, including the possession and/or use of from 1 to 120 hectares of agricultural land or the availability of from 3 to 100 heads of cattle (cows) identified and registered in accordance with the law," the government said.
At the same time, funds will be provided to farmers registered in the public agrarian register.
As reported, on August 12, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine opened registration with the public agrarian register for farmers. The ministry also announced the imminent launch of the first programs to help small farmers who grow crops or cows.
