Govt approves list of 16 oil and gas production facilities occupied by Russia on Ukrainian continental shelf
KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – By resolution No. 945 dated August 23, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of 16 Chornomornaftogaz oil and gas production facilities that were occupied by the Russian Federation on the continental shelf of Ukraine.
As follows from the document, seven of the 16 facilities at the time of the occupation were in a state of geological exploration of the subsoil, including pilot development of mineral deposits.
These include the Odeske, Bezimenne, Pivnichno-Kerchynske and Pivnichno-Bulhanatske fields, the Hubkin, Ryftova and Zakhidnoholitsynska fields, as well as the Schmidt field.
At three more sites, in addition to geological study and pilot development, further industrial oil and gas production was also envisaged – these are the Tarkhankutska site, the Palasa and Luchytskoho areas.
Chornomornaftogaz was engaged in industrial extraction of minerals at five sites: Holitsynske, Shtormove, Arkhanhelske, Skhidno-Kazantypske and Pivnichno-Bulhanatske deposits.
At one more facility, which included Abikha and Kavkazska areas, the Mayachna section and the Subbotina section, activities were carried out on the basis of a production sharing agreement (PSA) signed between the state of Ukraine, Eni Ukraine Shell Waters B.V., EDF Ukraine Shell Waters SAS, Waters of Ukraine LLC and Chornomornaftogaz.
