Govt allows future drivers to prepare remotely for theory exam on road traffic rules
KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decree allowing future drivers to undergo training, retraining and advanced training of drivers remotely, as well as to obtain a driver’s license with the help of a national postal operator or courier.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on Wednesday, this ensures the right to a distance form of driver training with the help of a single information system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"According to the government’s decree, training, retraining and advanced training of drivers are now possible online. In particular, an accredited institution must inform the nearest territorial service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that it plans to train remotely when registering a group list in the unified state register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs."
It specifies that distance learning in the theoretical training of drivers should be carried out for groups of no more than ten people. If the institution loses accreditation, then online training is suspended.
"In addition, it is possible to obtain a driver’s license ordered through the e-office at the request of a national postal operator or courier. In a pandemic caused by acute respiratory disease COVID-19, this minimizes contact with other people and is therefore the safest way of obtaining documents," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
