Google appeals 6-mln-ruble fine for failure to delete content banned in Russia
MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) – Moscow’s Tagansky District Court has registered appeals from Google contesting three rulings of a magistrate judge ordering the Internet company to pay 6 million rubles in penalties for violating Russian laws.
"The court has received appeals from Google LLC with regard to three judgements from August 19. The date of the court hearings has not been set yet," a court official told Interfax on Tuesday.
Earlier in mid-August, a magistrate judge in Moscow found Google guilty of administrative offenses described in Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (failure by an owner of an Internet resource to delete information in the event that they are obligated to delete it under Russian statutory laws).
