Germany to provide Ukraine with new package of military assistance worth EUR 500 mln – media
KYIV. Aug 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The German authorities have decided to provide Ukraine with a new package of military assistance totaling more than EUR 500 million, Bloomberg reports, citing sources in the German government.
According to the agency’s sources, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has completed the approval of the planned supply of additional weapons and ammunition to Ukraine for the specified amount.
As part of the package, Ukraine will receive from Germany tonnes of ammunition, anti-drone devices, armored recovery vehicles, modern air defense systems and rocket launchers.
At the same time, according to Western media, part of the aid within the package may begin to arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks, and the other part will arrive in 2023.
