Georgian PM accuses Saakashvili of radicalism
TBILISI. Nov 8 (Interfax) – Jailed former President Mikheil Saakashvili has radical views and anti-state plans, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said.
"We know well that the plans of imprisoned Saakashvili are absolutely radical and anti-state. It’s his plan, and the calls coming from him are targeted against our citizens’ security," Garibashvili told a press briefing on Monday.
He also said the plans of the opposition, which intends to hold protests, are destructive. "Our services have detailed information about that," Garibashvili said, emphasizing that the state will not let any "destructive force" carry out any provocations.
"Every person and every political group, including political parties, has the right to freedom of assembly and expression in a peaceful form. If it goes beyond the framework of the law, the state will be uncompromising. We won’t take a single step back. All attempts by the destructive opposition to carry out riots will be stopped," Garibashvili said.
