Gas prices in Russia to go up 5% in 2022, 4% in 2023 and 2024 instead of planned 3%
MOSCOW. Sept 24 (Interfax) – The indexation of wholesale regulated gas prices and rates of power grid companies in Russia will be higher than usual, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov told reporters while presenting the ministry’s new macroeconomic forecast for the period to 2024.
"At the request of the Energy Ministry, we did additional indexation for two components – wholesale regulated prices for Gazprom gas for industry: 5% in 2022, 4% in 2023 and 4% in 2024, [while for households] everything remained [unchanged at] 3%, 3% and 3%, this was important," Reshetnikov said. The ministry’s previous forecast called for 3% price increases across the board.
The rates of power grid companies for all categories of consumers except households have also been indexed more "due to all these price increases, industrial inflation and so on," by 3.8% instead of the initial 3% in 2022, 3% in 2023 and 3% in 2024, the minister said.
The "main indicator in rates is the indexation of the maximum level of housing and utility services for households by 4%, the same as it was," Reshetnikov said.
