Galnaftogaz plans to commission first stage of gas filling station in Brovary in spring of 2022
PIDHORODNE (LVIV REGION). Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Concern Galnaftogaz plans to commission the first stage of a gas filling station in Brovary (Kyiv region) in the spring of 2022, chief engineer of the Naftoterminal enterprise (100% subsidiary of the concern) Stepan Pelekh said. Tentatively, the launch will take place in March 2022. As of today, construction and assembly work is underway, a track has been completed, the readiness of the facility is 60%, he told reporters on Thursday.
According to the chief engineer, it was originally planned to complete the first stage of the construction of the gas filling station before the end of this year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of suppliers have postponed the supply of equipment – compressors, pumps, automatic valves.
Investments in the first stage will amount to $3 million, including at the expense of previously attracted borrowed funds from IFC.
"The project in Brovary is being implemented in three stages. At the first stage, we want to provide gas transshipment services: incoming railway tanks will not pour it into storage, but immediately load it into tank trucks. This will ensure speed and turnover," Pelekh explained. At the same time, Galnaftogaz is considering the possibility of purchasing its own locomotive for supplying cars to the station.
At the first stage, two tanks of 200 cubic meters will be installed. "In fact, they will perform the function of buffer tanks, which will allow taking vapors from the cars and pumping them directly into tankers," Pelekh said.
The second stage provides for the construction of eight more tanks of 200 cubic meters each, which will allow storing the product and making stocks.
"The third stage is the completion of ten more tanks of 200 cubic meters each, that is we will reach 4,000 cubic meters," Pelekh said.
As reported, Galnaftogaz in 2018 put into operation Zolochiv gas filling station (Lviv region), the tank farm of which makes it possible to simultaneously store 2,000 cubic meters of liquefied gas. In addition to covering its own operational needs, the company also accepts the resource from third-party customers for storage.
