G7 Ambassadors urge appointing Naftogaz supervisory board asap
KYIV. Aug 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The G7 Ambassadors have emphasized the importance of appointing a supervisory board of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy as soon as possible.
G7 ambassadors met with Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko, Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, Board Chairman of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko and Board Chairman of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky to discuss preparations for the winter season and "emphasized the importance of Naftogaz Ukraine’s supervisory board being appointed as soon as possible," according to a statement posted by the German Presidency of the G7 Ambassadors’ Support Group on Twitter on Friday.
As reported, the Economy Ministry announced a competition for four independent members of the supervisory board of Naftogaz in October 2021. A new membership of the supervisory board was due to be approved in February 2022. During the absence of the supervisory board, the Cabinet of Ministers carries out a part of its functions within the framework of shareholders’ meetings to approve necessary decisions.
