G7 Ambassadors to Ukraine: independent media is key pillar of resilient democracy
KYIV. Nov 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ambassadors of the G7 countries in Ukraine met with Head of Ukrainian Public Broadcaster’s Supervisory Board, Svitlana Ostapa and Executive Director of the Institute of Mass Information Oksana Romaniuk.
As reported on the Twitter page of the G7 Ambassadors to Ukraine, the parties discussed the challenges facing the public broadcaster, including a budget shortfall and wider for independent media.
"Ambassadors underscored their view that independent media, including a trusted and impartial public broadcaster, is a key pillar of a strong and resilient democracy, and their commitment to ensuring it is protected in Ukraine," the officials said in the statement.
