FUIB mulling purchase of Idea Bank – Rinat Akhmetov Foundation
KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB, Kyiv) is considering buying Idea Bank (Lviv), Natalia Yemchenko, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, has said.
"FUIB is really considering the purchase of Idea Bank along with other potential buyers," she told the Ukrainian edition of Forbes.
Equity capital of Idea Bank as of October 1, 2021 amounted to UAH 1.2 million, and the charter capital was UAH 298.742 million. In January-September 2021, its net profit amounted to UAH 418.974 million, which is 5.4 times more than in the same period in 2020.
Idea Bank (formerly Plus Bank) was founded in 1989. Its sole shareholder as of January 1, 2021 was Getin Holding S.A. (Poland).
FUIB was founded in 1991. Rinat Akhmetov is the owner of a substantial stake in the bank (indirect participation is 99.9%).
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of September 1, 2021, FUIB ranked seventh in terms of total assets (UAH 99.907 billion), and Idea Bank was 27th (UAH 9.14 billion) among 72 banks operating in the country.
