France and Australia plan to jointly produce artillery shells for Ukraine
KYIV. Jan 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – France and Australia intend to jointly establish large-scale production of artillery shells for Ukraine, French media reported on Monday, citing a joint statement by the defense ministers of the two countries.
"I am pleased to announce that Australia and France are working together to supply 155-millimeter shells to Ukraine," said Australian Minister Richard Marles.
It is noted that the production of ammunition will be carried out by the French company Nexter together with Australian manufacturers.
It is expected that the first shells will be delivered in the first quarter of this year.
According to Marles, the goal of the joint project of France and Australia is to ensure the continuous supply of ammunition to Ukraine for a long time.
