Four vessels to deliver Ukrainian food exports to China, Turkey, Spain, Belgium
NEW YORK, UN. March 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Four bulkers carrying more than 250,000 tonnes of food exports departed the Ukrainian ports on Wednesday, the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) said.
The Laskaro S vessel is heading to Belgium with 62,088 tonnes of corn on board, the Astra Perseus is carrying 55,000 tonnes of corn to Spain, the Geneve is carrying 32,000 tonnes of wheat and 33,000 tonnes of barley to Turkey, and the Andonis is heading to China with 48,502 tonnes of corn and 18,700 of sunflower meal on board, the JCC said.
Another four bulkers are now en route to the Ukrainian ports, it said.
“Total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 22,747,287 tonnes. Total number of voyages enabled: 1,543,” the JCC said.
“One hundred applications for participation in the initiative have been submitted,” it said.
