Four illegal immigrants from Azerbaijan detained in Luhansk region near border with Russia – State Border Guard Service
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Servicemen of the Luhansk border detachment detained four foreigners and a Ukrainian citizen near the village of Krasny Derkul in Schastinsky district of Luhansk region, according to the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Facebook on Sunday.
"Four detainees who made their way across the border in the dark turned out to be citizens of Azerbaijan, the fifth was our local resident, who accompanied foreigners so that travelers would not get lost and cross the border without hindrance. Finding out the circumstances of the offense, law enforcement officers found that foreigners dared to cross the border illegally due to the ban on entry to Russia, and our compatriot helped them in this," the message says.
The border guards drew up protocols on administrative offenses under Article 202 (violations of the border regime, the regime at checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine or regime rules at entry-exit checkpoints) and Article 204-1 (illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine) Of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine. On the fact of the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine, the investigating police began criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigation is underway.
