Five dead, 6 severely injured in Perm University attack
PERM. Sept 20 (Interfax) – Five persons have been killed and six have sustained injuries as a result of the shooting incident at the Perm State National Research University, the press service for the Perm Health Ministry told Interfax, citing preliminary information.
"According to the preliminary information, five persons are dead, and six have sustained severe injuries," the press service said.
The Russian Investigative Committee cites similar information about the casualties. "To our knowledge, a student opened fire in a building of the Perm State National Research University on September 20. As a result, five persons were killed and six were injured," the Investigative Committee said in a statement seen by Interfax on Monday.
"The assailant has been identified. He resisted the arresting officers and was injured in the course of detention," it said.
