KYIV. Jan 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The first four houses in Irpin have been restored under the Energy Efficiency Fund program VidnovyDim, the fund’s press service reported.

According to the report, homeowners associations of the Zatyshny 2020 and Novo-Oskolsky residential complexes in Irpin, who submitted applications on November 21, took part in the program.

According to the fund, as a result of Russian aggression, in the seven-storey buildings of the Novo-Oskolsky residential complex, the facade, thermal insulation of the walls were damaged, window and door frames were deformed, interior partitions were partially destroyed. Under the program, the houses received grants in the amount of UAH 5.4 million and UAH 1.6 million.

Two more damaged houses in the Zatyshny residential complex received grants of UAH 2.4 million and UAH 3 million for the repair of damaged thermal insulation of external walls, individual window and door frames, double-glazed windows, and cracks in the plaster.

At present, 70% of these amounts have already been transferred to the indicated associations, the fund notes.

"The pilot stage of the VidnovyDim program, which is being implemented on the territory of four regions – Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Sumy, has demonstrated the relevance of such an initiative. Applications for participation have already been submitted by 58 homeowners associations. The expected amount of grants for them is more than UAH 127 million," Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund Yehor Fareniuk said.

He noted that the fund plans to expand the program to other regions affected by the Russian invasion.

As reported, in November 2022, the Energy Efficiency Fund of Ukraine launched the VidnovyDim program, which provides for full reimbursement of funds for the repair of apartment buildings damaged as a result of Russian aggression. According to the terms, homeowners associations receive an advance payment of 70% of the total amount, and after the completion of repair work – the remaining 30%.

The European Union allocated EUR5 million for the pilot project, which included the renovation of 60-100 houses. Later, on November 28, 2022, the Energy Efficiency Fund, the EU and the IFC entered into an agreement on grant funding for the program for EUR 25 million.
