Finance Ministry expects funds from IMF and World Bank by year end – minister
KYIV. Nov 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine hopes for a positive decision by the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the allocation of $ 700 million to Ukraine within the second tranche of the Stand-By Arrangement on November 22, as well as additional funds from the World Bank, minister Serhiy Marchenko said.
"This will allow us to receive funds to maintain liquidity by the end of the year," he said at the annual meeting of the European Business Association in Kyiv.
The minister clarified to the Interfax-Ukraine agency that in the case of the World Bank the matter concerns an amount of up to $ 500 million: EUR300 million of the second loan for development policy in the field of economic development and funds for the Ukraine Emergency COVID-19 Response and Vaccination Project.
According to him, among the conditions for the allocation of EUR300 million is the signing of law No. 3205 on the establishment of the fund for partial guarantee of agricultural loans.
The minister thanked businesses for increasing payments this year, assuring them of the intention to achieve the adoption of a realistic state budget for 2022 and the continuation of the policy without fiscal pressure.
