Farmers raise over UAH 55 bln in loans under Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program in 2022 – Agrarian Ministry
KYIV. Aug 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of 2022, Ukrainian agricultural producers have signed 29,810 financing agreements under the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program for a total of UAH 55.12 million, according to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
At the same time, it is specified that for the period from June 1 to August 17, Ukrainian banks allocated UAH 16.56 billion to 11,340 agrarians and farmers, including UAH 1.5 billion under the portfolio guarantee program.
The agency recalled that from mid-March to May 31, 2022, Ukraine had a special program for preferential lending for the sowing campaign, under which farmers could raise up to UAH 60 million at 0% per annum, and 80% was guaranteed by the state. In total, during the period of its work, agricultural entrepreneurs received UAH 38.51 billion in loans.
"From June 1, applications for lending within the framework of available loans are accepted according to the usual 5-7-9% formula," the ministry noted.
With the help of this state program, small and medium-sized agricultural entrepreneurs receive loans for the purchase of fixed assets and reimbursement of any expenses associated with the implementation of agricultural activities. The program is also aimed at creating jobs in enterprises.
The leaders in terms of lending for the period from June 1 to August 17 were Vinnytsia – UAH 2.67 billion, Kyiv – UAH 2.5 billion, Chernihiv – UAH 1.63 billion, Khmelnytsky – UAH 1.71 billion and Sumy regions – UAH 1.69 billion.
The largest lending volumes for the specified period came from Oschadbank – UAH 4.41 billion, Raiffeisen Bank – UAH 3.91 billion, PrivatBank – UAH 1.64 billion, Ukrgasbank – UAH 1.22 billion, Ukreximbank – UAH 680 million.
