Export of agricultural products from Ukraine within 'grain initiative' reaches 3.33 mln tonnes

KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The departure of 11 ships with 240,000 tonnes of agricultural products is scheduled on Thursday from the ports of Odesa region to the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

"Nine vessels have already left the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, and two bulk carriers are waiting for favorable weather conditions in Pivdenny port," the agency noted on Facebook.

In total, since the departure of the first ship with Ukrainian food, 3.33 million tonnes of food have already been exported, and the total number of ships for Asia, Europe and Africa has reached 145.

As reported, two documents were signed on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain from three the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdenny with the participation of the UN, Ukraine, Turkey and Russia in Istanbul on July 22.
