Explosion over Kharkiv center most probably occurred due to technical failure of Russian Iskander missile – police

KHARKIV. Aug 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The most probable cause of an explosion, which occurred on August 23 night and ignited a fire in a three-story building in the center of Kharkiv, was a technical malfunction of an Iskander missile fired at the city by the Russian occupation forces, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region Serhiy Bolvinov has said.

"After the fire, pieces of a missile were found in the attic of the building, according to preliminary information – Iskander. Many people noticed that the building was not destroyed. The point is that the missile went off in the air! Most likely, the missile exploded due to a technical failure. "Made in Russia" – it is clear," Bolvinov said on Facebook on Wednesday.

According to him, the investigators are working on the spot, collecting the pieces of the missile and documenting all facts for the future trial of the occupiers.

As reported, on August 23 night, the Russian occupation forces launched a missile attack on Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in a three-story residential building in the city center. The wooden structures of the roof, ceilings and partitions went on fire.
