Explosion at sugar factory in Kyiv region injures five people – Interior Ministry
KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At a sugar factory in the village of Hrebinky (Kyiv region), as a result of a steam explosion, five people were injured, they were hospitalized, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said.
"Today, at about 16:00, a steam explosion occurred at a sugar factory in the village of Hrebinky. An ambulance paramedic told the Bilotserkivsky district police department," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on the Telegram channel.
As noted, there are five people among the injured, two of whom were hospitalized in the capital’s hospital. Other victims were taken to Bilotserkivska city hospital No. 2. The condition of the victims is currently not known.
The investigative-operational group of the Bilotserkivsky district police department left for the scene. According to preliminary information, the cause of the accident was a malfunction of one of the boilers.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the explosion. It is noted that the information will be updated.
