EVT terminal handles first million tonnes of grain in 2021/2022 MY
KYIV. Sept 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Marine Grain Terminal EVT (Mykolaiv) is increasing the intensity of grain transshipment and as of September 22 transshipped one million tonnes of grain in the 2021/2022 marketing year (MY, July-June), while the same indicator in the 2020/2021 MY was reached in November, and in the 2019/2020 MY – in December.
According to the company’s website, since the beginning of the 2021/2022 MY, the terminal has handled 64 vessels. In the structure of cargo, the transshipment of wheat amounted to 632,000 tonnes, barley – 197,000 tonnes, rapeseeds – 132,000 tonnes, corn – 52,000 tonnes, meal – 2,500 tonnes.
Since the beginning of this season, the terminal has already handled five large vessels, and plans to handle two more in September. The maximum volume of cargo of 70,000 tonnes was loaded by EVT on the Panamax class vessel Star Planet.
EVT grain terminal is owned by Evrozovnishtorg Company LLC, which was established in 1999 for the construction and development of sea terminals. It owns almost 100 hectares of land, 13 hectares of which are occupied by the grain terminal, and the rest is promising for the development of transshipment complexes of any specialization.
