European Council head speaks in favor of supply of tanks to Ukraine
KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of the European Council Charles Michel said he supports plans to supply tanks to Ukraine.
At the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday, Michel said Ukraine is in urgent need of more weapons. He is personally for the supply of tanks to Ukraine.
He said the European Union will help Ukraine as much as needed.
The head of the European Council promised to continue to help Ukraine militarily, and to increase the possibilities of the European Peace Facility.
Earlier this week it was reported that the UK would give Ukraine its most substantial military aid package, which will include Challenger 2 tanks and AS-90 self-propelled artillery mounts.
