European Commission President announces start of work on admission of Ukraine to EU internal market
KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said that Brussels intends to work with Kyiv on the unhindered admission of Ukraine to the internal European market.
“The Commission will work with Ukraine … to ensure seamless access to the Single Market. Our Single Market is one of Europe’s greatest success stories. Now it’s time to make it a success story for our Ukrainian friends, too,” the head of the EC said on Wednesday, delivering a report on the state of the European Union at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
“And this is why I am going to Kyiv today, to discuss this in detail with President Zelensky,” von der Leyen said.
