EU to ban transactions with RRDB, freeze assets of two more Russian banks
BRUSSELS. Dec 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As part of the ninth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, the EU will freeze the assets of two Russian banks and introduce a complete ban on transactions with the Russian Regional Development Bank (RRDB).
"The EU will impose an asset freeze against two additional Russian banks and add the Russian Regional Development Bank to the list of Russian State-owned or controlled entities that are subject to a full transaction ban," the Council of the EU said in a press release.
The press release does not indicate the names of the other two banks against which restrictions are being introduced; earlier EUObserver reported that these are the Moscow Credit Bank (MCB) and the Far East Bank.
