Enin discusses with British experts prospect of starting Ukrainian-British dialogue on visa liberalization
KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Enin discussed with a delegation of British experts the prospect of launching a Ukrainian-British dialogue on visa liberalization.
According to the website of the Interior Ministry, the First Deputy Interior Minister met with representatives of the United Kingdom Stephen Chapman and David McMahon on Wednesday. The event was also attended by head of the State Migration Service Maksym Sokoliuk.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the procedure for registration and issuance of passport documents in Ukraine and the implementation of border control procedures.
"We are expanding the geography of visa-free travel for Ukrainians! The abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports could be a good start for an active Ukrainian-British dialogue," Enin said.
British specialists assessed the level of security of the passport processing process in Ukraine by visiting the international air checkpoint "Boryspil" and the Main Forensic Center of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as well as the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Civil Service Center "Passport Service."
