Energy Ministry develops online platform AidEnergy to coordinate humanitarian aid for Ukrainian energy sector

KYIV. March 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, with the support of the EBRD’s Ukraine Stabilisation and Sustainable Growth Multi-Donor Account (MDA), has developed the AidEnergy online platform, which will allow coordinating humanitarian aid flows for the Ukrainian energy sector.

“This is a ‘one stop shop’ for collecting, updating and informing donors about the needs of fuel and energy companies, developing and validating donor proposals, distributing humanitarian aid and reporting,” the Energy Ministry said on its website on Thursday.

According to Deputy Energy Minister Farid Safarov, the creation of a single online environment increases transparency and optimizes communication with donors and fuel and energy companies.

“Also, AidEnergy significantly speeds up the movement of equipment by increasing the number of warehouses, allows you to quickly receive information about deliveries, as well as automate distribution and reporting processes,” Safarov is quoted on the website.

As he informed, currently Ukraine has received assistance for the energy sector from 30 countries with a total weight of more than 5,300 tonnes.

“Some 15,000 requests have been received from more than 140 companies. And since October 2022, when Russia began to specifically destroy the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, cargo traffic has grown by 240%,” the deputy minister stressed.
