Enemy launches 64 missile, air strikes, over 80 MLRS attacks in day – AFU General Staff

KYIV. Dec 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – During the day, the enemy launched four missile and 60 air strikes, as well as more than 80 attacks from multiple rocket launchers, as a result of which civilian infrastructure and the population were damaged, the General Staff said.

"The enemy continues to focus on conducting offensive operations in Bakhmut and Avdiyivka directions. It is trying to restore the lost position in Lyman and is defending in other directions," the General Staff said on Tuesday morning.

It is also noted the threat of enemy air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure remains throughout Ukraine.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remains without significant changes; no signs of the formation of offensive groups of invaders have been found. Certain units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and Russia continue to be in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In Siversk direction, mortar attacks were carried out on the settlements of Tymonovychi, Karpovychi and Kostobobriv in Chernihiv region and Novovasylivka, Kondrativka, Vodolohy and others in Sumy region.

In Slobozhansk direction, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Strilka, Hlyboke, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Volokhivka, Chuhunivka and Dvorichna of Kharkiv region.

In Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy fired from tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske, Stelmahivka, Makiyivka, Ploschanka, Chorvonopopivka and Dibrova in Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut and Avdiyivka directions, the enemy continues to conduct assault operations, fired from tanks, cannon and rocket artillery mortars at our positions in areas of 30 settlements. In particular, these are Verkhniokamianske, Berestove, Yakivlivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, and others in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues shelling the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnieper River. The districts of the settlements of Temyrivka, Krasne, Plavni of Zaporizhia region and Chornobaivka, Antonivka, Kherson, and others of Kherson region fell under the defeat.
