Enemy introduces tough restrictions on movement of local residents between residential areas in Kherson region – Maliar
KYIV. Sept 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, the enemy has introduced tough restrictions on the movement of local residents between residential areas in temporarily occupied Kherson region, the violation of the occupiers’ demands is severely punished, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Maliar has said.
"This week the enemy introduced strict restrictions on the movement of local residents between residential areas in Kherson region, which makes it much more difficult for a significant number of people to receive food, medicines and necessary urgent medical care. Violation of occupational restrictive requirements is severely punished," Maliar said at a press briefing at the Military Media Center on Thursday.
According to her, in particular, Russian servicemen fire at civilian vehicles approaching pontoon crossings without warning.
"At the same time, the Russian invaders, declaring lofty humanitarian goals, strongly demand that propaganda materials be brought to schoolchildren of all age categories, which contain a distorted understanding of historical events and spread narratives: allegedly, Ukraine and Russia have only a common future," she said.
Maliar also noted that the occupiers are integrating the educational system of the temporarily occupied territories into the Russian one, now massively bringing Russian textbooks there, and using educational institutions to cover their forces and equipment from the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She did not leave out a possibility that the occupiers can use children for the same purposes as human shields.
"The Russians are afraid of the Ukrainians, they are afraid of our protest potential even within Russia. Obviously, this is why the Russian special services are nervously stepping up their activities regarding Russian citizens with Ukrainian origin and regarding Ukrainian citizens who live in the territory of the Russian Federation," she said.
