Enemy fires twice at Sumy region from Bryansk region on Wed, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure damaged – Pivnich command
KYIV. Aug 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From Bryansk region, Russian occupation troops on Wednesday fired twice allegedly from barrel artillery on the territory of Shalyhinska hromada, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged, the Operational Command Pivnich (North) reports.
"As of 21:30 on August 17, 2022, two attacks were carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation on the area of responsibility of Sumy region, where residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were significantly damaged and destroyed," the report says.
It is noted that in the first half of Wednesday there were 17 explosions allegedly from barrel artillery on the territory of Shalyhinska territorial community. The fire was conducted from the area of the Russian locality of Lokot (Bryansk region). Private buildings, the building of the rural house of culture were damaged.
And at 18:20 and within an hour, another 21 explosions were also recorded from the barrel artillery on the territory of the same community. As a result of enemy shelling, private farmsteads were completely destroyed due to the fire, as well as power lines were damaged.
There was no information about losses among the local population.
