Emergency situation in Ukraine's IPS eliminated – Ukrenergo
KYIV. Dec 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The state of emergency in the Integrated Power System (IPS) of Ukraine has ceased to operate, PrJSC NPC Ukrenergo reported on Friday evening.
"We inform you about the termination of the emergency situation in Ukraine’s IPS, which occurred on December 16, 2022 as a result of massive missile attacks by the Russian Federation on the electric power infrastructure of Ukraine [thermal power plants, hydroelectric power stations, substations of 330-750 kV backbone grids]," the company’s website states.
As reported, on Friday morning, as a result of massive missile attacks on Ukraine’s electric power infrastructure by the Russian Federation, more than 50% of consumption of the country’s integrated power system was lost, NPC Ukrenergo reported.
According to the transmission system code, the loss of more than 50% of consumption of Ukraine’s IPS determines the onset of the system accident mode (blackout).
