Electricity tariffs for households to remain unchanged – Minister Haluschenko
KYIV. Oct 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Energy is working on extending public service obligations (PSO) to provide the population with electricity (which expires on October 30), which provides for maintaining the current tariffs for electricity for the population, Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko has said.
"Nothing will change for people. Tariffs will remain the same," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.
Haluschenko said that the Ministry of Energy is working on certain changes to the PSO model, in order, among other things, to be able to maintain the tariffs.
As reported, household consumers pay for electricity UAH 1.44/kWh for monthly consumption of 250 kWh inclusive and UAH 1.68/kWh for volumes exceeding 250 kWh.
