Eighteen people die of COVID-19 in Lviv region last week

LVIV. March 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Eighteen people died of complications caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus disease in Lviv region over the past week, Director General of Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Health Ministry of Ukraine Natalia Ivanchenko has said.

“The coronavirus disease in Lviv region. On March 3-9, 2023, some 8,889 tests were taken, 256 of them were positive, 18 were lethal, and 609 people recovered,” she said on Facebook.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the incidence rate in Ukraine is 68.9 per 100,000 population, particularly in Lviv region – 139.2. According to statistics, the COVID-19 incidence rate in the region has been growing: 1,256 new cases were recorded as of March 13, while a week earlier the number was 1,057.

Some 328 people are receiving in-patient treatment.

“Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Call a doctor if you have any signs of disease. Mind the necessity of two booster doses of vaccine,” Ivanchenko said.
