Economy Ministry creates Economic Staff at Zelensky's initiative
KYIV. Aug 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Economy, at the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, has created an Economic Staff under the leadership of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, with the involvement of leading industry experts, which will meet weekly.
"I want to assure you right away: the Economic Staff was created not for talk, but for action. First of all, for the prompt solution to the tactical and economic challenges of a warring country," Svyrydenko was quoted in a message from the Ministry of Economy on Friday.
In particular, the center will work on solving such issues as booking and business trips for employees of commercial enterprises; speeding up the movement of goods at customs; stimulation of agricultural business; military risk insurance; and creating jobs for people who lost them because of the war.
The Staff will meet every week to evaluate the results of the work and work out new solutions to urgent issues.
According to the report, the experts of the Economic Staff are Anatoly Amelin, co-founder and director of economic programs of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future, Roman Bondar, head of Korn Ferry, Serhiy Haydachuk, president of CEO Club Ukraine, Kateryna Hlazkova, executive director of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, Yuriy Holyk, coordinator of the Great Construction program; and Yuriy Horodnichenko, professor at the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
In addition, Deloitte partner Yehor Hryhorenko, Advanter Group CEO Andriy Dlihach, McKinsey & Company managing partner in Ukraine Oleksandr Kravchenko, executive director of the Center for Economic Renewal and adviser to the Prime Minister Kyrylo Kryvolap, and Ukraine Economic Outlook managing partner Mykhailo Kukhar were named as part of the Staff.
Also the experts include President of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) and Advisor to the Head of the President’s Office Tymofiy Mylovanov, President of Euroindex Valeriy Pekar, Representative of Ukraine to the IMF Vladyslav Rashkovan, member of the Supervisory Board of Oschadbank Oleksandr Rodniansky, Executive Director of the Centre for Economic Strategy Hlib Vyshlinsky and Managing Partner of EY in Ukraine Bohdan Yarmolenko.
Among the authorities at the Economic Staff are Deputy Heads of the President’s Office Kyrylo Timoshenko and Rostyslav Shurma, as well as First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy Denys Kudin.
