EC cancels anti-dumping duty on imports of hot-rolled coil from Ukraine – Ukrmetalurgprom
KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Based on the review of the current anti-dumping duty on imports of certain hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy or other alloy steel originating in Ukraine to the EU countries, which amounted to EUR 60.50 per tonne, the European Commission on Friday decided to completely cancel it, the Ukrmetalurgprom association has said on its website.
At the same time, the five-year anti-dumping duty on hot-rolled coil originating from Ukraine was introduced on October 7, 2017. However, on June 4, 2022, to support the economy of Ukraine during countering Russian aggression, a decision was made to temporarily suspend the action until June 5, 2023.
“Currently, this duty has been completely canceled, which will improve the stability of the presence of Ukrainian rolled metal products on the EU market,” Ukrmetalurgprom said, noting that, according to the decision of the European Commission, a similar duty on hot-rolled coil originating from Brazil, Iran and Russia remains in force.
Hot rolled coil is used to make a range of steel products for the construction, shipbuilding and automotive industries, including gas containers, high pressure cylinders and energy pipelines.
