"The Eastern Partnership Economic and Investment Plan will attract large-scale European investments to Ukraine. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working to support small and medium-sized businesses, create additional opportunities for small farmers, and modernize our infrastructure, energy and economy. We can achieve these goals thanks to such an ambitious plan, and we are grateful to the EU for its readiness to develop investment cooperation with Ukraine," Kuleba said.

The interlocutors discussed the key projects that the EU investment plan will allow to implement in Ukraine, in particular, support for 100,000 small and medium-sized Ukrainian enterprises, the development of the innovative and competitive economy, additional opportunities for the development of more than 10,000 small farms, economic transformation of rural areas, modernization of border crossing points, acceleration of digital transformation and modernization of public IT infrastructure, improvement of energy efficiency and support for production of green hydrogen in Ukraine.

The Minister invited the European Commissioner to visit Ukraine in order to discuss the details of the implementation of these and other projects.

"The implementation of the projects of this investment plan will bring positive and tangible results for citizens of Ukraine, entrepreneurs, farmers, small and medium-sized businesses, create new jobs and increase revenues to the Ukrainian budget," the minister stressed.

The parties paid special attention to strengthening the energy security of Ukraine and Europe as a whole.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted that the Economic and Investment Plan for the Eastern Partnership is an EU plan for further cooperation with the countries of the Eastern Partnership, which is supported by an investment package of EUR 2.3 billion in the form of grants, guarantees and mixed tools, with the ability to attract up to EUR 17 billion in public and private investment. It includes promoting trade, creating new jobs, investing in infrastructure, strengthening democratic institutions and the rule of law, supporting the green and digital transition, and promoting the ideas of a just society with gender equality and inclusiveness.
