DroneUA completes joint program with USAID to promote agricultural drones
KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – DroneUA, an integrator of unmanned solutions, has completed a program to popularize unmanned sprayers and ground-based robotic agricultural systems for the application of pesticides and fertilizers among Ukrainian agribusiness.
As reported on the company’s website, a joint project with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was implemented in 15 regions of Ukraine: Rivne, Volyn, Kyiv, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Lviv, Sumy, Khmelnytsky and Ivano-Frankivsk.
More than 100 applications of pesticides and fertilizers took place within the framework of the project. A wide range of crops were processed by sprayer drones, including corn, wheat, sunflower, buckwheat, currant, watermelon, melon, Chinese cabbage, broccoli, onion, eggplant, tomato, pepper, blueberry, strawberry and apple tree.
According to DroneUA, more than 90 farmers throughout Ukraine have already used the services of spraying drones or specialized agro-robots within the framework of the program.
"Already now, agricultural drones increase the efficiency of agricultural production and become the main tool for prompt and timely processing of crops. In addition, sprayer drones not only save up to 30% of pesticides through ultra-low-volume application, but also reduce fuel and water consumption by up to 90-95%," the company said in the report.
According to the DroneUA website, the company is the largest importer and distributor of drones in the market of Ukraine and Eastern Europe, presents technological solutions from the brands XAG, EcoFlow, Pix4D, Parrot, Chasing, DroneDeploy, AgroCares, etc. The group of companies has its own engineering, manufacturing and service divisions, a data processing center has been opened.
The technological solutions presented by DroneUA are used on more than 4 million hectares of sown areas in Ukraine. According to the results of the 2021 agricultural season, more than 1 million hectares were treated with drone sprayers from DroneUA.
