Draft state budget-2022 provides for rise in funding for Social Policy Ministry by 2.3%

KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The draft state budget for 2022 provides for an increase in funding for the Ministry of Social Policy by 2.3% or UAH 7.374 billion compared to 2021.

According to draft law No. 6000 of September 15, 2021, it is proposed to allocate UAH 201.2 million for management in the field of social policy, and UAH 66.6 billion for the payment of certain types of benefits, compensations, cash support and payment for services to certain categories of the population, UAH 1.4 billion for annual one-time financial assistance to war veterans and victims of Nazi persecution and social assistance to persons who have special labor services to the Motherland, UAH 985 million for the payment of social scholarships to students (cadets) of professional institutions of higher education, UAH 2.8 billion for social protection of citizens affected by the Chornobyl disaster.

Some UAH 38.4 billion is allocated for the payment of benefits and housing subsidies to citizens for the payment of housing and communal services, the purchase of solid and liquid stove fuel and liquefied gas in cash, UAH 3 billion – for the provision of monthly targeted assistance to internally displaced persons to cover living expenses, including for payment of housing and communal services, and UAH 400 million for the modernization of the social support system for the population of Ukraine.

In addition, it is proposed to allocate UAH 200.6 billion for the Pension Fund of Ukraine, UAH 2.5 billion for the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities, and UAH 160.6 million for the National Social Service of Ukraine.

It is also expected to allocate UAH 1 billion of subventions to local budgets.

As reported, on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved and sent to the Verkhovna Rada the draft state budget for 2022.
