Draft state budget-2022 provides for increase in funding for Education Ministry by 11.7% compared to 2021
KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The draft state budget for 2022 provides for an increase in funding for the Ministry of Education and Science by 11.7%, or UAH 18.024 billion compared to 2021.
This is said in the draft law No. 6000 of September 15, 2021.
In particular, it is proposed to allocate UAH 500 million to the President’s Fund for Support of Education, Science and Sports (UAH 200 million in 2021) and UAH 100 million for the implementation of the Presidential University project.
It is also proposed to allocate UAH 208.7 million for general management and administration in the field of education and science; UAH 286.9 million for the organization of the work of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the National Agency for Qualifications, and the Education Ombudsman; UAH 35.1 billion for the training of personnel by universities and ensuring the activities of their practice bases; UAH 5.1 billion for the payment of academic scholarships to students (cadets), graduate students, doctoral students of professional institutions before higher and higher education; UAH 2.5 billion for training by the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; UAH 331 million for scientific and scientific-technical activities at the Academik Vernadsky Antarctic station; UAH 159.4 million for the State Service for Education Quality Assurance; and UAH 49.3 million for the National Commission for State Language Standards.
In addition, it’s proposed to allocate UAH 114.5 billion to various educational subventions to local budgets.
As reported, on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved and sent to the Verkhovna Rada a draft state budget for 2022.
